We meet every Sunday at 9:30am near the entrance to Minehead Barbarians Rugby Club (see blue marker on map below). If you come by car, please park to the right as you drive into the Rugby Club car park, near to the gate.
As you wait please watch for traffic using the Rugby Club and pedestrians on the pavement.
There are no pre-set routes; these are decided on the day based on the weather conditions and the members present.
This is the ideal group for those new to cycling, or seeking a gentle ride.
Typically the group will travel to Watchet, Porlock or, sometimes, Wheddon Cross
for coffee and then return.
This group will often spend all day out cycling, covering 30-60 miles.
Plenty of coffee/lunch breaks are included and the atmosphere is not competitive.
The emphasis of this group is harder rides, with less priority given to breaks for
refreshments.
It would suit fitter, experienced road cyclists who want to push themselves.
These are not hard-and-fast groups and members frequently swap between them, depending
on personal fitness or time available.
Many members arrange to meet during the week for rides. If you wish to go out on days other than Sunday there is usually someone available to go with you. Please ask around on one of the Sunday meets or go to our Contact Us page and email us to get your name put on the weekday rides distribution list.
Typically this group will travel out to places such as Dulverton, Exford, Simmonsbath, Wiveliscombe, South Molton and cover 30-70 miles in a day, with stops for food and drink. Distances vary according to the abilities and wishes of those participating.
Occasionally rides of 100 miles or more are arranged during the summer.
